Dispute a rejected clip

When a brand rejects a clip you think followed the rules: where the Dispute button is, what to write so the team can reinstate it, and what happens after.

3 min readUpdated September 11, 2026

In short

  1. 1Open the rejected clip on your Submissions page
  2. 2Read the brand's reason
  3. 3Press Dispute
  4. 4Explain in a few sentences why the call was wrong, with specifics
  5. 5Press Raise dispute and wait for the team's decision

Every rejection comes with a reason written by the brand. If the reason is right, fix it on the next clip. If it is wrong, dispute it. A person on the team reads every dispute.

Before you dispute

Read the reason and check it against the brief. Open the campaign and look at the rules block. Most rejections are one of these, and if the clip really did break the rule, a dispute will not help:

  • a required hashtag or mention missing
  • music where the brief said none
  • the product or logo cropped out
  • footage from outside the campaign
  • a watermark from another app
  • the same moment already submitted by you or someone else

If none of those apply, or the reason does not match what you posted, dispute.

How

  1. 1Open Submissions and find the clip. It shows as Rejected with the reason.
  2. 2Press Dispute.
  3. 3In the Explain box, write what happened. Be specific: "The brief requires #brandname and it is in the caption, second line." "The clip is from the linked episode at 41:20." "The count went from 12k to 9k because TikTok removed views; I did not buy any."
  4. 4Press Raise dispute.

Explain

The caption has #glowlabs on its second line, after the first sentence. Screenshot of the caption attached in the post itself.
Raise dispute
  1. 1Say exactly why the call is wrong, with something the reviewer can check: a timestamp, the hashtag's position, what caused a view pattern.
  2. 2Press Raise dispute. You get an email with the outcome either way.

The clip shows as disputed. You can keep posting on the campaign in the meantime.

What makes a dispute work

Specifics. The reviewer looks at your clip, the brief and your note. A note that points at the exact thing (the timestamp, the hashtag, the read history) is settled in minutes. "This is unfair" is not something anyone can check.

If the rejection was a flag (a velocity spike, a view drop, a clip sitting on the cap), say plainly that you did not buy views and, if you know, what caused the pattern. A clip shared by a big account, for example, spikes for a real reason.

What happens next

The team reviews it and does one of two things:

Reinstated. The clip goes back to Approved (or Pending if it had not been reviewed yet). Its earnings are committed as normal, with the 30 day hold starting from when they land.

Upheld. The rejection stands, and you get a short explanation of why. That explanation is worth reading; it usually tells you exactly what to do differently.

You get an email either way.

Things people ask

Can a brand see my dispute? The team handles it. The brand sees the outcome.

Does disputing affect my other clips or my applications? No. Disputes are per clip.

Can I dispute twice? One dispute per rejection. If new information turns up, email support with the clip link.

How long does it take? Usually a few days.

If a clip was rejected for a rule you missed, clipping mistakes that get clips rejected has the checklist so it does not happen again.
