Verify your TikTok, Instagram or YouTube account

How account verification works on The Creators Club: the one off code, where it goes on each platform, why Instagram uses a post caption, and what to do when it will not verify.

In short

  1. 1Open Settings and then Connected accounts
  2. 2Add the handle you post from
  3. 3Copy the one off code
  4. 4Paste it into the account's bio, or a post caption on Instagram
  5. 5Press verify and wait for the read
  6. 6Remove the code once the account shows as connected

Every clip you submit has to come from an account you have proven is yours. Verification is how you prove it, once per account, and it takes a few minutes.

Why it exists

The platform reads view counts straight from TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. For that to be fair, each clip has to be tied to a real account that the person submitting it controls. Otherwise anyone could paste a link to somebody else's viral post. Verification ties your handle to your page.

We never ask for your password, and nothing about this can post, delete or message from your account. You put a code in a public place, we read it, done.

The steps

  1. 1Open Settings, then the Connected accounts tab.
  2. 2Under the platform, press Connect and type the handle exactly as it appears on the app.
  3. 3You get a one off code. It looks like aura followed by six characters. Copy it.
  4. 4Put the code where the platform can read it (see the platform notes below).
  5. 5Come back and press Verify. We read the public profile or post and look for the code.
  6. 6Once the account shows as connected, take the code out again. It has done its job.

  1. 1Copy the code. It is unique to this handle.
  2. 2Paste it anywhere in the account's bio on the app, and save there.
  3. 3Come back and press Verify. We read the public profile and look for the code.

Each handle gets its own code. Connect as many accounts as you post from.

TikTok

Paste the code anywhere in your bio. Save. Press Verify. TikTok bios are public and read within seconds.

YouTube

Paste the code in your channel description (the About section). Save. Press Verify. Both the short and full description are read, so it does not matter where in the text it sits.

Instagram

Instagram does not let servers read bios reliably, so the code goes in a post caption instead. Publish any post (a photo is fine) with the code in the caption, copy that post's link, paste the link into the verify panel, and press Verify. We read the post, check that its owner matches the handle you claimed, and look for the code in the caption. After it verifies you can edit the caption or delete the post.

Or prove it with a post

Put the code in the caption of any post or reel on @podclips.daily and paste the link.

Post link

https://www.instagram.com/reel/...
Check that post
  1. 1Publish any post or reel on the account with the code in its caption. An old post edited to include it is fine.
  2. 2Paste that post's link here and press Check that post. We read the post, match the owner to your handle, and look for the code in the caption.

If you see an option to verify Instagram by bio instead, use that; it means a bio route is available at the moment.

When it will not verify

"Code not found." The most common cause is a save that did not go through, or a private account. Make sure the bio or post is public and the code is exactly as shown. Wait a minute after saving on the app; some platforms cache the profile briefly.

"Handle not found." Check spelling and that you did not include the @. On YouTube use the handle from the channel URL.

"Owner does not match" on Instagram. The post link you pasted belongs to a different account than the handle you claimed. Post from the account you are verifying.

Still stuck. Verification is read from our servers, and a platform can block a read for a while. Try again in an hour. If it is still failing, email support with the handle and the platform.

After verification

The account appears under Connected accounts with a green status, and it is available in every campaign's submit form. You can submit clips from it straight away. If you ever change the handle on the app, reconnect it here.

Next: submit your first clip.
