Approve creator applications

What an application shows you, the ten second check that separates a real clipper from a blank account, and why approving a dozen beats approving everyone.

In short

  1. 1Open Creators to see applications
  2. 2Open the creator's account on the platform they post from
  3. 3Check that it is real, in your niche and not spam
  4. 4Approve or decline
  5. 5Watch the first clips from each approved creator

By default, creators apply to your campaign and you decide who gets in. Applications land under Creators. Here is how to decide quickly and well.

What an application shows

The creator's page name, their handle and platform, follower count, the campaign they applied to, and their pitch: the two sentences they wrote in the "Why you?" box. The handle links to their account.

Decline Approve

"I listen to the show every week. The hiring segment in episode 41 would clip well and I already run a business clips page."

  1. 1Open the handle. Ten seconds on the account tells you if it is real, in your niche and not spam.
  2. 2The pitch they wrote. One that names your content is a good sign.
  3. 3Approve seats them on the campaign; they can submit from that moment. Decline asks for an optional reason.

The ten second check

Open the account. You are looking for three things:

Is it real? A name, a picture, a bio, posts going back more than a week. Empty accounts and accounts made yesterday get declined.

Is it in your niche? If you are a business podcast and the last ten posts are gym clips, the recommendation system will show your clips to gym people. Decline, politely; they can apply to a campaign that fits.

Is it spam? Thirty posts a day across five unrelated topics, or clips that are all reposts with other apps' watermarks. Decline.

Follower count matters less than you would think. Views on short video come from recommendations, not followers, and a 200 follower account that posts clean clips in your niche will outperform a 50,000 follower account that posts everything. Do you need followers to start clipping explains why.

The pitch

A pitch that names your content ("I listen to the show; the segment on hiring would clip well") is a good sign. A blank pitch or a generic one ("I'm a hardworking creator") is a weak sign but not a decline on its own; check the account.

Approve or decline

One button each. Approving seats the creator on the campaign; they get an email and the campaign appears in their dashboard, and they can submit from the moment they are in. Declining asks for an optional reason, tells them, and they can apply to other campaigns.

Creators you approve stay approved if you later switch the campaign to public or private.

How many to approve

More is not better. A dozen good clippers posting three clips a day is 36 clips a day and 108 posts across three platforms. That is plenty of shots at the pool. Approving everyone fills your review queue with weak clips and spreads the pool over people who will not deliver.

Approve the clear fits first. Come back to the maybes once you have seen a week of clips.

After approval

Watch the first two or three clips from each new creator on Submissions. It tells you fast who understood the brief. The ones who did are the ones to keep for the next campaign and to invite to private ones.

Things people ask

Can I invite specific creators? Set the campaign to private under "Who can join" and tell the team who you want in; they seat those creators directly. Or run a flat fee campaign offered straight to the people you pick.

Can a moderator on my team approve? Yes. Admins and moderators can approve applications; members can only view.

A creator I approved is posting off brief. Reject the clips with a reason. If it continues, email support and the team can remove them from the campaign.

Next: review and approve clips.
